ABOUT ME

CONNECTIONS IN HOPE COUNSELING, LLC

My name is Veronica Rothney and I've been working as a social worker in the community for the past 12+ years. I have a Master's degree in Social Work and am fully licensed in the state of Michigan. I created Connections in Hope Counseling with the goal of helping you to meet your individual therapy needs. Whether you are not feeling like your usual self or having interpersonal conflicts, I strive to offer a safe and non-judgmental space for you to express your thoughts and feelings. We all go thru difficult times and challenges in life and need the support of others to get thru them. I believe that therapy is an investment in yourself and you deserve the opportunity to feel heard and supported and given tools to navigate those challenges..

At Connections in Hope Counseling, I provide telehealth and virtual therapy only to individuals 18+. I understand that life can be busy and a barrier to taking care of your mental health. That's why I only offer evening hours from the comfort of your home. My goal is to help you overcome any obstacles that may be preventing you from living your best life. I'll partner with you to explore your goals.  I specialize in anxiety, depression, life transitions, women's issues,  caregiver burnout and dementia. I also enjoy working with young adults, pregnant and post-partum women, and individuals in the LGBTQ+ community. I have had experience working in many community settings including in Community Mental Health, schools, and as a Medical Social Worker. I have had experience working with many different individuals, across all ages, including those with developmental disabilities and those with severe and persistent mental illness. I've had training in CBT, DBT, Solution Focused therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness.
